Why Middleton is Number One
The Truth About Rent To OwnMost of us are very familiar with the term "rent to own". Places such as Prime Time and Rent A Center have built an empire with rent to own merchandise ... When thinking of the Number One place that is ideal in which to live, work, and raise a family, obviously the answer is going to be different for everyone. The particular needs of your family are going to be different than anyone else's. And of course if you are tied to a particular area because of your work or career, then the best place to live will be someplace close to your employer or the heart of your industry.
But for many, they were surprised recently when Money Magazine named Middleton, Wisconsin, as their Number One place to live in America.
Note the press release that the Middleton Chamber of Commerce released upon this announcement:
Purchase In ConnecticutAnyone interested in high-end real estate is not going to be surprised by the mention of Connecticut as a prime location for consideration, as this state has long ... The City of Middleton (population 16,935) and the Middleton Chamber of Commerce are pleased to acknowledge Money Magazine's designation for the City of Middleton as "The Best Place to Live 2007." We wish to thank Money Magazine for their research and hard work in rediscovering Middleton (we ranked 7th in 2005) as well as our tremendous residents, businesses and employees who make Middleton unique. In response to this recognition by Money Magazine, we offer the following interesting facts about our community:
* In accepting this honor the Good Neighbor City, host of Good Neighbor Fest for the past 43 years, recognizes and appreciates the many contributions of all our neighboring Dane County communities and the University of Wisconsin. * The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, its high level of academic and co-curricular achievements, outstanding staff and quality facilities such as the Performing Arts Center are keys to the community's success. * We're the corporate headquarters and home base for American Girl, Capital Brewery (America's #1 Rated Brewery), Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) and Springs Window Fashions, LLC, among many other great businesses in a dynamic regional economy. * Over 25% of our land mass is "green space", including the pristine Pheasant Branch Conservancy and an extensive 15-mile trail system. * Home to the acclaimed Middleton Hills, the first "new urbanism" subdivision in the Midwest. * A regional employment center, we are a net importer of jobs-1,300 according to the 2000 Census and probably in excess of 3,000 in 2007.

Why Vegas Is Still HotIs there really any city in the world more famous and more popular than Las Vegas? Not only is this famed mecca of only a few square miles an amazingly popular tourist attraction, it is a city that has been featured in ... Note the article itself, as quoted on Yahoo! Finance, in regard to their thoughts on the ranking:
"When you're young, the big city is a great place to be. There comes a point, though, when you're ready to trade night life for shade trees, sushi for pizza and roommates for children.
It's time to find the place where you'll spend the better part of your adult life - raising your kids, climbing the career ladder and building your family's future. For most folks who have the option, that means a place that's smaller, safer and greener.
Tips On Buying A HomesiteBuying A Homesite can seem to be intimidating especially if you don't have any knowledge regarding it, but it is not difficult at all if you have already conceptualize your needs and determine which time of ... But there's a big difference between a gated McMansion subdivision and a town where you can put down roots and participate in a community that has a broader list of concerns than the height of the hedges. The latter are the kinds of places MONEY looks for in naming America's Best Places to Live.
This year we focused on smaller places, between 7,500 and 50,000 in population, that offered the best combination of economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a real sense of community.
We made a few tweaks to our methodology adding a ranking for ethnic and racial diversity and - - with the cost of housing an issue for so many families - paying extra attention to home prices and property taxes. That meant a few expensive locales that have been on past lists slid in the rankings, while some more affordable places moved up."
Middleton's economy.
Purchase In MontanaBig Sky Country aptly describes the state of Montana. Its wide open spaces are what you would expect from a state that made its living for so many centuries in sheep and cattle ranching ... No doubt much of Middleton's economic growth is related to tourism, however, it is also supported in a large part by the University of Wisconsin, which U.S. News and World Report ranked as the 8th best public university in the United States. The University of Wisconsin is a research university that specializes in liberal arts, and in sports. Wisconsin's NCAA Division I athletic teams are called the Badgers. They compete in the Big Ten Conference in all sports except ice hockey, where they participate in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Wisconsin's football team won the Rose Bowl in 1994, 1999, and 2000. Its men's basketball team won the NCAA National Championship in 1941, and made it to the Final Four in 2000. Both the men's and women's hockey teams won the national championship in 2006.
The university is not the only "employer" in the area, however. Middleton has a strong pool of jobs, mainly in the pharmaceutical, tech and medical industries. Doll maker American Girl is one of the town's largest employers.
So Middleton, Wisconsin, may not have immediately leapt to the front of your mind when you thought of the number one place in which to work, live, and raise a family, but Money Magazine is rarely wrong. With its strong community ties, peaceful atmosphere, and fierce loyalty to its nearby university, Middleton is no surprise as a wonderful community in which to settle and raise a family.
Selling The High-End Real EstateThe high-end real estate market is apparently the only part of the industry that is untouched by the recent slowdown in the market, and the housing slump that has a grip on many parts of the country. Real ...
